Salutations! Hi, I am Ms. Hennrikus and I will be your child's Religion, Language Arts, and Literature teacher this year. I want to take this time to let you know a little bit about myself and how my classroom will be run. This year will be a year of change both academically and personally and I am excited to guide your children spiritually, intellectually, and socially on this 6th, 7th, and/or 8th grade journey.
As a teacher, I consider myself to be creative, energetic, and nurturing. I believe in the uniqueness and dignity of your child and I will dedicate my professional experience and faith as a Catholic to help your child reach the fullness of their potential. My classroom will be high-energy and thought provoking. Students will develop their critical thinking skills, which include: applying, analyzing, synthesizing, and "thinking outside the box." In my classroom, I will promote a safe environment that encourages creativity and risk taking. Your child will have a tremendous amount of fun this year! |
Up Coming Dates/Info.: |
Welcome back!
We are so looking forward to being able to see all of our students in person on September 8, barring any major changes to San Diego’s status on the state’s watchlist. As communicated, St. Patrick is planning a phased reopening on September 1 bringing back our K-4 September 1-4 and 5-8 on September 8. Since our 5-8 graders will not return to campus until the 8th, we will be providing distance learning from September 1-4. This year we have transitioned to using Google Classroom and so we are no longer using the Edmodo platform from the spring. Although google classroom is new to us, it is easy to use and should provide better access for each student. In order for our distance learning plan to be a success each student must join each of their classes in google classroom. To access google classroom students must be signed in with their assigned St. Patrick google account (please see below). No other google account will allow access, so please make sure to sign in with the St. Patrick account. Additionally, we have provided a tutorial here on how to join a class: https://youtu.be/k_uGNzSQ4YE Please have students join their Google Classroom classes before Friday, August 28, 2020. Students will be assigned work and be able to turn it in through google classroom; however, no textbooks will be required during this first week. Students should plan to login to a Zoom link for each class “period.” All links will be communicated to you via google classroom. We understand that all of this is an adjustment, but please know that your students are more than capable. We will work with them to address any tech issues and help them in any way that they need. Please let us know if you have questions. |
St. Patrick's Mission: |
St. Patrick's School provides a quality Catholic elementary education for all students entrusted to our care, developing every aspect of the child: mind, body, and spirit.
We support parents as primary educators of their children. We are called to spread the Gospel message of love, unity and reconciliation. Essential to our mission is building a relationship with Jesus and one another. St. Patrick's School is a vital part of our parish community and is enriched by the presence and ministry of the Augustinian Order. Their values of truth, community, and love guide us in the fulfillment of our mission. |
